There’s a certain kind of knowing that only comes from a childhood spent on the water. The way
the morning mist sits on Lake Rosseau before the boats are out. The smell of sunscreen and dock
wood. The particular thrill of getting up on water skis for the first time and even being thrown
off a tube. I don’t just know Muskoka. I grew up in it, and now I get to help others find their
way in.
Summers on Lake Rosseau weren’t vacations for me. They were a way of life. From the time I
was young, my family made the annual pilgrimage north to cottage country, joining the
generations of families who understood that something irreplaceable happens when you trade
pavement for pine trees and a lake becomes your backyard. It wasn’t just my immediate family
either. Extended family cottaged here too, making the lake a gathering place — a backdrop for
birthdays and long weekends, lazy afternoons and family activities at Muskoka Lakes Golf and
Country Club. The kind of summers that don’t just become memories. They become part of who
you are.

“I’m not just an agent who works in Muskoka. I’m a cottager who became a local, and that difference shapes everything about how I serve my clients… Having someone in your corner who has spent decades on these waters, who raised family here and chose this lake above all others, is an advantage that’s hard to replicate.”

It turns out I wasn’t the only one who felt that pull. The man I married spent his own summers on
these same lakes and took his love of the water even further, becoming a competitive water
skier. Two people, two families, one shared understanding of what makes Muskoka more than
just a place to visit. When it came time to decide where to put down roots and raise a family of
our own, the answer was never really in question.
We made the move permanent. Today, our family lives full-time on Lake Rosseau, and my kids
are growing up with the exact childhood I had: waterskiing, swimming, exploring the bays,
and building the kind of easy, unhurried summer freedom that’s becoming increasingly rare.
That’s not lost on me. It’s actually the whole reason I do what I do.
I want other families to be able to experience what I grew up with. There’s nothing quite like
watching your kids jump off the same docks you did or sharing a sunset on the water with three
generations around you. Those moments are why people come to Muskoka, and they’re why I
never left.
That’s what I bring to this work that I genuinely don’t think can be replicated. Muskoka cottage
real estate is its own world. It doesn’t operate like urban real estate, and it doesn’t reward agents
who treat it like it does. The nuances here matter enormously: which bays offer the calm, deep
water ideal for waterskiing and families with young kids; which areas hold their value best over
time; which communities have the amenities to support year-round living versus seasonal use.
These aren’t details you can find on paper. They’re the kind of local intelligence that takes years
to accumulate, and I’ve spent a lifetime doing exactly that.

I know which docks catch the afternoon sun and which are shaded by the time you want to be on
the water. I know which local businesses close after Thanksgiving and which ones keep their
lights on through February. I understand the rhythm of the Muskoka real estate calendar: when
serious buyers come to market, when the best listings move, and how to position a property to
attract the right buyer at the right moment. I’m not just an agent who works in Muskoka. I’m a
cottager who became a local, and that difference shapes everything about how I serve my clients.
For buyers, especially those chasing a feeling they remember from their own childhood or
dreaming of creating one for their kids, I understand what you’re looking for, often before you
can fully articulate it yourself. That longing for a place on the lake isn’t just a real estate
transaction. It’s a search for something that genuinely matters. I know that, because I’ve lived it
from both sides.
Lake Rosseau is one of the most sought-after addresses in Canadian cottage country, and one of
the most nuanced markets to navigate. Privacy, water quality, lot configuration, sunset exposure,
proximity to marinas and golf — every detail shapes value in ways that aren’t always obvious on
paper. Having someone in your corner who has spent decades on these waters, who raised family
here and chose this lake above all others, is an advantage that’s hard to replicate.
